This wonderful Old Cabin was built in the 1750's, complete with musket ball holes and all! It was down near Halls, and they heard it was going to be torn down and burned, so they hauled it up here and added to the mill in the 1940's. The Mill was built in 1889 and was run by the Daniel Boone Family for over 100 years. The original Mill works are still in the house. The basement houses the major part of the mill works, the pulleys, belts and levers. The stones were brought here from England and are in great shape, waiting patiently to be used. The water that turns the mill wheel comes from a lake inside the mountain under the Pinnacle, which is owned by the National Parks. The water that turns the mill is also leased by the Coke Company and is use to make "Cumberland Gap" bottled water and Coke products. The Mill is the oldest standing building in The Gap. |

It was later named "Chief Black Fox Mill" in honor of the Cherokee Chief. It has been an Art School and still has some of the original art work on the dining room walls. It has been a Museum of the local area. It has been a boarding house and a rumored that is has also been a "Cat house" at one time. Ask us about the too cute story about my 8 year old Grandson and the "Cat House"...you will laugh! Just too funny! With over 200 years of history it must have quite a few wonderful stories it could tell and we know some of them and are always looking for more. And what self respecting old house would be complete if she did not have Spirits... Now come make some of your own!

All of our guest rooms have their own, New Private baths, with all of the amenities you expect at a first class establishment. From our large fluffy towels to the Nautica robes, nothing has been left out for your comfort and enjoyment. You are greeted with a welcome basket from our family, just our way to say welcome to the "Gap" and you will find a full line of Natural Bath Amenities including Bath Fizzes, and Bubbles! We have free Wi-Fi and full cable including all of the premium channels. We know you can go stay at a hotel anywhere, but if you are going to spend your hard earned money wouldn't you love to stay somewhere that is just really cool and one of a kind? where your food taste like food, not cardboard? where the coffee is freshly ground every morning, from custom roasted, just for us, coffee beans? Where if you want seconds you can? A multi-coursed breakfast is served at 9 am, instead of 6 am, unless you want it that early. We are here to serve YOU and your needs!
