Rugby, Tennessee (TN) Bed & Breakfast: The Newbury House offers six bed and breakfast rooms as well as the Pioneer Cottage and Percy Cottage. Bed and breakfast accommodations in the book-filled Newbury House have five bedrooms, three with private baths, and a two-room suite. Pioneer Cottage and a two-bedroom Percy Cottage suite have kitchen facilities and sleep from one to 10 people. Relaxing in the guest's parlor or on the front verandah is a favorite pastime.

When You Visit Historic Rugby

Today, Rugby is a heritage treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places and pursuing Landmark Status with the National Park Service. The National Trust "for Historic Preservation" calls Rugby one of the most authentically preserved historic villages in America. Historic Rugby continues a more than 35-year quest to restore, preserve and protect this unique village and interpret its fascinating history to visitors from all over Tennessee and the world.

Guided Tours

Rugby's restored Schoolhouse Visitor Centre takes visitors through a century of Rugby history with a 12 minute video and richly-detailed interpretive exhibits. Site Admission includes daily guided walking tours.

Events

Historic Rugby hosts several special events each year which attract thousands of people, including the Spring Music and Crafts Festival, the Halloween Ghostly Gathering, and Christmas at Rugby. A Pilgrimage of Rugby's Historic Homes is held in the Fall of every odd year.

Workshops

Historic Rugby is pleased to offer a wide variety of traditional craft work-shops. Workshop instructors are highly experienced and classes are geared to both beginners and more advanced students.

Some area attractions include Highland Manor Winery, Colditz Cove and Northrup Falls, Pickett State Park, The Big South Fork Recreation Area, Historic Stearns and the Big South Fork Scenic Railway, Blue Heron Historical Museum, Muddy Pond Mennonite Community, the Obed Wild and Scenic River, and much more...
