- Directions to the Home Place from Rogersville:
- The Home Place is 12 miles SW of Rogersville. Take llW toward Knoxville to Mooresburg. In
Mooresburg, the first exit to the Home Place is just past the J.L. Rogers bridge
over Poor Valley creek. Go right. You will pass the Country Corner restaurant on the left. Drive
3/10 mile to Church Lane. Make a right. Drive 1/10 mile, cross over small bridge. The mail box
and lane for the Home Place are just past the bridge. Make a right at the mail box and drive 2/10
mile.
The 2nd exit has the historic marker for the Home Place at Slate Hill Road and 11W. Turn right on Slate Hill Road. The Williams Home Place historic marker will be on the northwest corner. Go two blocks. Cross through one intersection. Slate Hill Road turns into Church Lane. Go 1/10 mile past small bridge and turn right immediately past the bridge. You should see the Home Place mail box. Drive 2/10 mile.
The 3rd exit is at 31 N. Turn right at the Exxon station and travel toward Sneedville. Go 2/10 mile and take the 2nd right onto Church Lane in front of Mooresburg School. Drive 3/10 mile. You will pass two churches. Watch for mail box on left. Turn left at the mail box and drive 2/10 mile.
- Directions from Morristown and I-81:
- Take exit 8 which is Hwy 25 E from I-81. Go north on 25E, bypassing Morristown.
Approximately 17 mi. from I-81, 25E will intersect with Hwy 11WN. There will be an exit for
11WN Rogersville. Take this exit. Drive approximately 3 miles on 11WN into Mooresburg and
take 31 N . There will be a sign for Sneedville and an Exxon Station. Turn left onto 31N and
make the second right onto Church Lane in front of Mooresburg School. Drive 3/10 mile past
two churches and watch for mailbox on left. Turn left at the mailbox and drive 2/10 mile.
- Directions from Knoxville:
- Take 75N from downtown. When 75 and 640 split, take 640 to I-40E. Stay on I-40 E to I-81 N.
Follow above directions. Or take 11W N (Rutledge Pike) from Knoxville. 11 W N. intersects
with 25E. Take the 11WN exit for Rogersville and follow the directions written above.
- Directions from north of Tennessee:
- Travel S. on I-75. At Corbin, take 25E S. through Middlesboro and Tazewell. Cross Clinch
Mountain. There will be an exit off 25E for 11WN toward Rogersville. Take that exit and drive
approximately 6 miles to Mooresburg. Turn left at the Exxon Station on to 31 N toward
Sneedville. Go 2/10 mile and make the 2nd right at Church Lane in front of Mooresburg School.
Drive 3/10 mile past two churches and watch for mailbox on left. Turn left at the mailbox and
drive 2/10 mile to the Home Place.
