The city of Clinton is located in Anderson County, Tennessee along the Clinch River. Enjoy a weekend in Appalachia at a Clinton bed and breakfast or Clinton inn. Historic Downtown Clinton is an attraction in itself with many local shops and restaurants. The Museum of Appalachia is a “living history” museum dedicated to the pioneer and frontier life located on a working rural farm. You can learn about the past as your experience the culture of today. The Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute and contains over 250,000 artifacts. Local events include an annual sheep shearing in the spring, visitors can partake in all activities, learning to sheer a sheep themselves! In second week of October, Clinton puts on one of the most authentic folk festivals with music and crafts. Don’t forget to buy a souvenir at the many gift and craft shops.
