Area Attractions

In addition to be located in a beautiful area the following things of potential interest are available:
  • This is the county on which "The Walking Tall" films about Sheriff Buford Pusser were made. See the Pusser Museum in Adamsville.
  • Twelve miles away is the National Civil War Battlefield of Shiloh
  • Eleven miles away is the Civil war battlefield of Corinth MS
  • 43 miles away is the battlefield of Brices Crossroads, General Nathan Bedford Forrest's triumphant victory over a three times numerically superior Union force occurred. The strategy and tactics have been and are still studied in military academies world wide. German General Erwin Rommel, the Desert Fox, even visited the area to study these tactics.
  • Nearby, are the battles sites of Parker's Crossroads, Britton Lane, Davis Bridge, Fallen Timbers, Tupelo (also the birthplace of Elvis Presley), Okolona, Bolivar and other Civil war sites, such as Bethel Springs, TN.
  • Fishing and Hunting in this are excellent! Pickwick lake and Dam and Savannah on the Tennessee River hold world-class Catfish, Big-mouth bass, and Crappie fishing tournaments. There are many golf courses in the area as well.
  • At Chinquapin Hill we will recommend to you some of the best Southern Cooking restaurants, as well as good Chinese and Mexican restaurants, or the best barbeque places in the world.
So come and enjoy complete serenity at Chinquapin Hill Bed and Breakfast, or very active and informative sightseeing of this historical area, or fish, hunt, horseback ride, trail bike ride, golf, or participate in many other pleasurable pastimes.
