Small Town Saturday Night (1/3/2008 thru 12/31/2008)
A night out on the town (Friday or Saturday) includes; dinner for two at the LONE TREE STEAK HOUSE or BLUE ROOM, 2 adult tickets to a movie at the rejuvenated LYRIC or LORAIN theatres.

Enjoy "sleeping in" the next morning. Breakfast will be served at your leisure between 8am and 12 noon. Hang out in the country or browse our rural small town attractions.

Package price for 2 (double occupancy) $149 plus tax.

Package with two nights lodging for 2 (double occupancy) $204 plus tax.






Dinner Theatre Get-A-Way (2/1/2008 thru 12/30/2008)
Package includes: Tickets for two at the renovated Lyric Dinner Theatre, a cozy room in the hay loft of THE BARN B&B, a full country breakfast at your leisure. After Breakfast you may choose to relax in the country, or browse our local gift shops, book store, or THE CREAMERY, featuring a museum, local artists and antiques. Near by state parks offer hiking, (bring your snowshoes in winter).


Dinner at 6:30 pm and Show at 7:30 pm on the following nights:

June 7 South Dakota Children's Theatre
Performances at 2 pm and 7:30 (no meal)

Rates: $89 plus tax, double Occupancy.

Fish the Lewis & Clark Trail (4/1/2008 thru 9/30/2008)
This is the fishing experience of a lifetime! Whether you are a novice or an experienced fisherman, this package will accommodate individuals, businesses, or family outings with everything you need, except the fishing license.

Walleye, Large and Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie! Missouri Valley Guide Service takes you where they are biting in the comfort of a 21 ft. fishing boat, fully equipped.

Lodging at The Barn Bed & Breakfast includes a full breakfast. Missouri Valley Guide Service provides everything else. Both The Barn and Missouri Valley Guide Service have been featured on Gary Howey's TV series "Outdoorsmen Adventures" which airs across the Midwest.

Prices start at $395 per couple per day. (Price per person goes down as more fishermen are added.)

Bike, Hike, Ride or Drive the Lewis & Clark Trail (4/1/2008 thru 9/30/2008)
The Lewis & Clark Bicycle Trail is mapped out clearly. It is primarily paved rural roads with some moderately traveled state highways.

Leisurely pedal a short day trip, or plan to take the main loop. The map shows 130 miles, if you travel the whole loop on both sides of the Misssouri River.

The BARN B&B provides 2 nights lodging,a full country breakfast, sack lunches, park day passes, map, help in planning shorter day trips, arrangements for a shuttle,or locating alternative lodging on the longer bike trip across the Missouri River.

Rates: $225,tax included for 2 nights lodging for 2 (double occupancy)

Agriculture Tour (5/1/2008 thru 9/30/2008)
The BARN B&B offers strolls down country lanes to observe wild life, sun rises and sun sets. After a good night's rest in the hayloft, a hearty country breakfast will be served in the horse stall. The petting farm awaits your attention just outside the barn door. A friendly farm dog, barn cats, sleepy potbellied pig, a mini horse, and last but not least, a mini donkey, all eagerly await your attention.

Then just 20 minutes away is LAKE VIEW HUTTERITE COLONY. Theirs is a large scale modern farming operation.

Tour the cabinet manufacturing, the grain elevator, turkey barn, chicken barn, pig barn, cattle, garden and much more. See where the Colony people live and learn a little of their German heritage.

Package price for 2 (double occupancy), two nights lodging, breakfast at your leisure and tours $149 plus tax.

Small Town Celebrations! (8/9/2008 thru 8/10/2008)
Fur Traders Days - August 9th & 10th 2008. Celebrating the first commercial business of Dakota Territory. Papineau's Fur Trading Post has been relocated to the Geddes Historical Park on the south end of main street. Along with the boyhood home of Peter Norbeck and the Red, White, and Blue (one room) School House.


Many activities are planned for this 2 day celebration. Participants and spectators both are welcomed. Come join in the fun! A tenetative schedule is below. It will be updated as more events and activities are finalized.

Saturday, Aug 9 - Antique Parade and Flea Market on main street. Followed by activities at the Sports Complex (located 3 blocks west of the Historical Park).

Cowboy Mounted Shooters competing in a Grand American shoot for belt buckles, points towards the world championship, cash, and other awards, softball games, tractor rodeo, horse shoe tournament, all competing for trophies and or cash awards.

Two great steakhouses located on main street are available for your evening meal, and a dance in the evening.

Sunday, Aug 10- Cowboy Church at the sports complex, Cowboy Mounted Shooting competition finals, more softball games, 4 wheeler ATV mud run, and a tractor pull competing for more trophies and or cash awards.


Admission to Sports complex grounds $5 each day. Children under 12 free. Food and beverages available on the grounds.

THE BARN Bed and Breakfast special lodging rates for the celebration are $75 per room per night. Two night minimum.

THE BARN also has one camper hookup site available for $30 per night.

Pheasant Hunting, the Old Fashioned Way (10/18/2008 thru 12/31/2008)
This is hunting with a personal touch, and South Dakota small town hospitality. Pheasant hunting at your own pace, in parties of 1 to 4 hunters.

Lodging at the Barn Bed & Breakfast, includes private entrance to loft, where there are 4 rooms each with a private bath, 2 spacious lounges, a hearty country breakfast, bird cleaning station and freezer available.

Hunting is provided by neighbors, who have land close by. Costs per day start at $205, plus tax, per hunter, depending on the land owner, type of hunt, optional guide and dogs. These are not preserve hunts; all SD and Federal laws apply. (Price does not include hunting license.)
