Hill City, South Dakota Bed and Breakfast: Pine Rest Cabins is located one mile south of Hill City (in the Heart of the Hills) on the west side of Highway 16-385. Here your family can rest and relax with the morning sun and the afternoon shade which keeps our cabins nature-cooled. The setting of our rustic cabins is on the edge of a little valley, nestled in the pines, with the mountains and Black Hills National Forest rising directly behind. All modernized housekeeping cabins are spaced for privacy and have their own parking space.

Introduction

Pine Rest Cabins provides the perfect location for day trips anywhere in the Black Hills. Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and Custer State Park are all within a 20 minute drive. Board the 1880 train or get on the Mickelson trail right in Hill City. Walkers, hikers, cyclists, tourists, hunters, fishers, honeymooners, climbers, cross country skiers, ATV'ers, or anyone wishing to relax in the beautiful surroundings of the Black Hills National Forest are welcomed at our establishment! There are nice lakes with beach areas within seven miles for water fun. The George S. Mickelson trail (rails to trails) runs parallel to us just across the road, with public access less than 1 mile at the Tracy Park trail head in Hill City.

ONE BEDROOM, SIMPLE COUNTRY CABINS

All of these cabins are set-up alike with three rooms-1 bedroom, bathroom and kitchen-yet each has character of its own. The cabins are heated and include color cable TV and all but one has hardwood floors. Each kitchenette has a stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink, table and chairs with variations in Cabin #5. Bathrooms all include a shower, sink and a stool.

NEW TWO BEDROOM CABINS WITH FIREPLACES

Our new two bedroom cabins have been popular with couples and families. Each unit is approximately 500 sq.ft. with separate entrances and your own covered porch. Each cabin has a queen size bed in one bedroom and a built in bunkbed in the other. There is also a single sofa-bed/love seat in the living room which has a gas fireplace, a kitchenette with microwave, electric skillet, chef's pot for boiling or slow cooking, toaster, coffee maker and under counter refrigerator. A table, four chairs, and a rocker completes the room. With the exception of Cedar, which has a handicapped accessible shower, each unit has a bathroom with tub and shower. Sorry, no pets or smoking in the new cabins.
