Faith, South Dakota (SD) Bed & Breakfast: Palmer Ranch House is a historical guest house, built in 1910 by homesteaders. We are a working cattle ranch on 5200 acres. The location is 18 miles west of Faith, 100 miles from the Black Hills, Deadwood, Sturgis, and Mt Rushmore. The Badlands and Devils Tower are within 150 miles.

Berta's Devils Food Cake

1/2 cup margarine or oleo ( softened)
2 cups sugar
4 TLBS cocoa (heaping)
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk( for sour milk, I put around 1/2 cup canned milk in a cup and add about 2 tsp. vinegar so it will claber,then fill rest with water) Make sure you add soda to this.
2 tsp. soda in sour milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup boiling water

Mix all together, bake in greased cake pan @375 for 30- 35 minutes, or toothpick comes out clean.
