Horses Welcome

French Creek Ranch's horse stabling is nearly as nice as our human accommodations. The Ranch has eight large barn box stalls, outdoor runs, and six fenced corrals. Feed, bedding, tack and other services are available. Horses may be boarded for an additional fee. Stabling is not included with Bed & Breakfast rates.

  • Large Barn Box Stall - $25/night per horse
  • Large Wooden Corral - $10/night per horse
  • We can help take care of almost any of your horse's needs that may arise. A farrier can be arranged to repair any hoof problems.
  • Our local veterinarian is also available for emergencies. A feed store is located in town.
  • No stallions.
  • Current negative Coggins/health certificate/ownership/brand papers required
French Creek Ranch is nestled amidst some of the most beautiful horse trails in the Black Hills. Whether you want to ride among the buffalo in Custer State Park, tackle the winding climb to Harney Peak, or ride up to the shadows of Mount Rushmore, horse riding in the Southern Black Hills offers nearly endless opportunities. We're familiar with most of the area trails and can help you choose where to start.

If you don't plan to bring your own horse but still want to ride in the Hills, we can make arrangements with a local outfitter. Dakota Badland Outfitters can take you into the surrounding Hills. Or, if you have your own horse and want an experienced guide, one can be arranged, depending on availability.
