Introduction

Nestled in 44 of the original 270 acres, Sleepy Hollow Plantation gets it name from the wisps of rime floating in the bottom land and the old one room school house that was once on the property.

Plan on elegance and comfort in a restored upstate plantation house with all the expected amenities. The restoration returned the home to the 1890 mid-Victorian era. The guest rooms are all equipped with either wired or wireless internet and each room has its own TV for quiet enjoyment. The common rooms consist of a sitting room with bead board walls and ceilings with casual seating for reading and contemplation. The bay windowed living and dining room are dramatically set apart from the norm with the long heart pine floors and comfortable seating. A kitchen and den are surrounded by solid brick walls with wide plank ceilings. Surround yourself with leather comfort while you sip coffee or tea.

Tour the grounds and enjoy the historical home and barn on 44 acres stepping back into history that was part of the Pendleton District. The home was built circa 1837 and purchased by a cousin in 1887. The Striblings fine tuned the farming practices and brought the first Percheron Horses and first Jersey Dairy Cows to South Carolina. The largest white oak tree in SC is located just behind the house where you can view it and the creek on the Veranda.

Just next door to Historic Pendleton and Clemson University the Plantation gives you ready access to your enjoyment in the area. Casual receptions, weddings or tailgate parties are available on the grounds or in the J. C Stribling Barn, on the National Historic Register. Catering and Planning are available on request.

Rates are seasonal with cancellation required 7 days prior to stay. There is a two-night minimum reservation requirement.
