The Sisters' Suite - $190 per night
Named after Bell and Mabel Montgomery, the suite is located on the first floor and was a 1941 addition to the manor house. Many of their personal possessions are in the suite and are representative of their lives here. Painted in cake batter yellow with fabric accents of blue, green, and yellow, the suite offers a view of the gardens as well as a private brick patio complete with an iron table and chairs. A large oak and dogwoods can be seen from the windows as sunlight bathes the room mid morning. The den area of the suite features a sofa and chair as well as other furniture period to the 1940's. Bookcases house the requisite books as well as personal items belonging to the sisters. A four poster canopied rice bed is the centerpiece of the bedroom as steps are provided for those who need them. Shutters provide privacy and security from the outside world.
Step into luxury in this spacious bath with its Bain Ultra two person Jacuzzi and chandelier, complete with dimmer switch. A large tiled shower, a vanity with ample counter space, and your own refrigerator filled with beverages are just some of the amenities in this bath. Large soft bath linens, a hair dryer, and toiletries are also included in this bath with its warm blue walls. An adequate closet area with extra hangars complete this area.
The privacy and elegance of the Brothers' room, named after the two Montgomery sons, make it a favorite for both weary travelers and getaway couples. A mahogany queen bed clothed in golds and wines creates a warm ambiance for those looking for a respite. Steps provide access to the high bed for those who need them. Two wing chairs flank the fireplace giving the guest a place to peruse a magazine or enjoy their favorite television show. Sit in the window seat overlooking the camellia garden and watch nature at play. A pleasant mix of antiques and fine reproduction furniture place this room in a class by itself. A beautiful mirror adds elegance over the mantle and reflects the richness of the gold walls and cream trim. A large double closet with extra hangars is also in this room.
The Brother's Room - $150 per night
Enter another world when you step into the Bain Ultra two person Jacuzzi situated on a raised platform under a crystal chandelier, complete with dimmer switch. A sink mounted into an old dresser and an antique washstand are placed against the beautiful 1941 wallpaper for an old world feel. Carved out of the upstairs hall, the bath features original bead board wainscoting and a banister railing duplicated from the main staircase by the innkeeper. A large shower finishes out this bath along with a hair dryer, toiletries, and ample bath linens.
Warm golds and rich indigo complement the gleaming woods of the Eastlake furniture in Senator Montgomery's Room, so named after the master of The Grove who served as a South Carolina state senator and legislator. An antique cherry bed, queen sized for your comfort, is dressed in beautiful carving and a rich velvet and tapestry quilt. Large upholstered wing chairs provide comfortable seating for reading or watching TV. Two large pieces of art original to the house hang in the room and give an old world feel to the room. Marble topped wash stands flank the bed, and lamps provide light for the bedtime reader. A closet with extra hangars completes this room.
A claw foot soaking tub awaits your weary body and soul. Lavender bath crystals and ample bath linens beckon you to step back from your busy world and take time to indulge yourself. A separate tiled shower and pedestal sink contrast with the rich wood of the hardwood floors uncovered during the restoration of the house. Bead board wainscoting and ceilings are right at home with our modern amenities, such as a hair dryer and toiletries.
Located on the second floor under the Eastlake square tower is a warm sunny room beckoning you to gaze out over the camellia garden. The Laura Ashley wallpaper is a garden itself as beautiful floral colors accent the crisp white woodwork and delicate white lace curtains. An embroidered quilt on the white iron and brass bed sits snugly under the tower. White wicker furniture adds a touch of days gone by as a Chinese tapestry over the fireplace denotes a touch of elegance. A closet with extra hangars completes this room. A single white iron bed can be easily set up in Kate's room for another person without interfering with the flow of the room. A set up fee of $20 is charged.
Kate's Room - $110 per night
The bathroom, painted in a soothing green with crisp white bead board wainscoting, features a tiled tub/shower combination, the tub boasting a Bain Ultra Jacuzzi. Ample bath linens, a hair dryer, and toiletries are among the amenities offered.
Annie's Room, located on the second floor and named after the first mistress of The Grove, exudes a peaceful serenity with its soft shades of pink and sea foam green. These colors contrast beautifully with the rich golden oak queen bed and matching dresser, complete with a large beveled mirror. Two comfortable wing chairs offer a place to read, relax or watch TV. Furniture and decorative items in Annie's room come from both the Montgomery family and the innkeepers' families and give this room a wonderful sense of home. A double closet with extra hangars completes this room.
The spacious private bath adjoining Annie's room is tiled in teal and rose and features 1941 fixtures - all working well!! Furnished with ample bath linens, this bath has a tub/shower combination, a hair dryer, and toiletries.
