Kings Inn Bed and Breakfast

The twelve foot ceilings with elaborate dentil moldings sport crystal chandeliers, and the entire house has again been renovated. Fresh new colors and marvelous antiques and new innkeepers, Kristan and Joe bring new life to the inn. A hand-carved, historic mantle is the focal point of the parlor, with original-glass windows treated with silk draperies. Dramatic blue with white wainscoting is the backdrop in the exquisite dining room, centered with a magnificent Schonbeck chandelier. The entire inn houses an extensive art collection with featured paintings by Lowcountry artist, Helen K. Beacham.

A full, multi-course gourmet breakfast, consisting of a fruit appetizer, main course with a delectable entrée is served on fine china and silver. We consider your special dietary needs upon request. Service in the winter months is under the chandelier in the dining room and on the rear veranda overlooking the gardens and pool the remainder of the year. Of course, if you prefer, in room service is available.

Mature live oaks, magnolias, azaleas, and camellias surround the fountain and front walkways, grandly accentuated with magnificent palmetto palms. The rear gardens frame a dark blue "grotto" pool, lap size, with rock boulders accenting the paths and sitting areas.

Kings Inn is within walking distance to quaint shops, numerous excellent restaurants, pubs and day spas. Azalea park is a few doors away. There are museums, an Historic library, live "Little Theater", Mepkin Abbey, Cypress Gardens, the Audubon Center at Frances Beidler Forest, rivers to canoe and kayak, tennis courts, horse back riding, and several excellent golf courses. Downtown Charleston can be reached in approximately 20-25 minutes, the Atlantic ocean and its beautiful beaches, in about 45 minutes.
