Introduction
Ma maison "my house" at Honeysuckle Acres (Joshua 24:15 - "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.") is a massive four-column colonial home built in 1927. The house is reminiscent of an antebellum mansion. It is set on seven park-like acres and is complete with the original stables and the original carriage stone in front, as featured in The South Carolina Historical Society
Historic Home Tour 2005.
Driving up the tree-lined road will remind you of "Gone With the Wind."
In 2002, the Innkeepers, Harold and Patricia Frish, purchased and remodeled the home for use as a small Bed & Breakfast. The home is a stunning setting for teas and receptions, both inside and out. A forty-foot ballroom and an equally large arched entrance hall with winding staircase are ideal backgrounds for bridal pictures. The ballroom is brightened by eight windows adorned by antique cornices from the circa 1854 Lace House, the governor's mansion in Columbia.
Harold and Patricia have a passion for Europe and have chosen to style the home after the manner of a small European guesthouse or "pension" with all continental amenities. Furnishings are an eclectic mix of fine European and American antique and classical furniture. Honeysuckle Acres has two guest rooms available for lodging with the possibility of a third connected as a suite with a shared bath. Cable TV is available in the two main bedrooms. Turn down bed service, imported chocolates on your pillow, and imported waters are provided.

If you visit Honeysuckle Acres in the spring, you will be treated to the lovely blooms of the Spirea that grow beneath the trees. Previous owners of the property include prominent Winnsboro and South Carolina families. During the Revolutionary War, the commander of the British forces, Lord Cornwallis, chose to garrison his troops in Winnsboro. In fact, he gave Fairfield County its name when he looked across the fields nearby and remarked, "My, what fair fields these are."
