Each day at Colvin Farm starts with a gourmet breakfast served either in the dining room or on the screened porch. And no matter what your plans for the day include, you will want to make time to enjoy the quiet solitude of Colvin Farm and the pristine beauty that surrounds us. Our spacious porches, swings, or the cozy hammock at the log cabin are great for relaxing. You might even be lucky enough to spot a deer, hummingbirds, or fireflies while you are with us. End your day by watching a brilliant sunset or marveling at the spectacular night sky.
At Colvin Farm Bed & Breakfast, you can choose from two elegantly appointed bedrooms in the main house or a cottage that is situated a short walk from the house and ideal for those who want complete privacy. Each of our guestrooms have been elegantly restored and decorated. All guests have access to the parlor and dining room in the main house in addition to a large screened porch spanning the entire back of the house and a front porch complete with rocking chair and swing.
Colvin Farm Bed and Breakfast has been given the honor of being on the National Register of Historical Places as The Colvin-Fant-Durham Farm Complex. The house was erected circa 1835 by Nicolas Colvin, Jr., a prosperous Chester County farmer. The farm remained with the direct descendants of Nicolas Colvin until 1990. In 1983, the house was used in the filming of the mini-series, "Chiefs". The stenciled brick chimneys are a reminder of that today.
Colvin Farm has been granted the distinction of being a Backyard Habitat property. Since 1973, the Backyard Wildlife Habitat program has been helping people garden for wildlife. The program encourages everyone - homeowner, teacher, community leader - to plan their landscape with the needs of wildlife in mind, and gives them the tools they need to make it happen. Today, thousands of habitats have been certified all over the U.S. and Canada, and more are being certified every day.
