Syrup:
3/4 cup Aunt Jemima's syrup
1 tsp Savannah Cinnamon (sold at Hallmark stores and fine gift shops) or any other liquid cinnamon syrup
Heat through till very hot in microwave.
Beat milk, egg, vanilla and cinnamon with whisk. Heat butter at medium heat till it bubbles. Dip bread in batter and place on hot butter. Cook till browned on both sides, turning every minute.
Spread a generous amount of cinnamon butter on toasted bread. Pour syrup over both slices. Top with fresh fruit garnish and then powdered sugar.
Optional Topping: 1 can apple pie filling, 2 teaspoons cinnamon,
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and 1 tablespoon sugar. Combine and cook through on
stove. This can be frozen and is good on biscuits, toast or muffins.
