Guided Bird Tours
Birding tours at Abingdon Manor are designed for 6 to 8 individuals. Guide, Professor Travis Knowles is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. He has been birding since age 11, and has extensive experience as a natural history guide in the U.S. and Costa Rica. Professor Knowles has birded in many locations around the world, including Peru, Borneo and Australia. The tours at Abingdon Manor will focus on common species of the Eastern U.S., including many you may see in your own backyard, as well as a few Southeastern specialties. Bring comfortable shoes for a leisurely walk around the nearby Little Pee Dee State Park. Binoculars will be provided if you do not have a pair of your own.
