From New York:

• Take Interstate 95 North to exit 3 in RI for Route 138 East.

• Follow blue road signs for Newport Bridge. You will go over the Jamestown Bridge and then the Newport Toll Bridge.

• Take the first exit off Newport Bridge. Take a right at bottom of off-ramp.

• At the second traffic light turn right where road forks. America's Cup Avenue begins there.

• America's Cup will turn left by the harbor/wharf area and turn into Memorial Boulevard at a traffic light. Follow Memorial uphill 8/10 mi. to Cliff Avenue, which is last street before the beach.

• Take a right on Cliff Avenue, go down two blocks to Seaview Avenue.

The Cliffside Inn is on the corner of Cliff and Seaview. Parking lot on Seaview.

Approximately 3 1/2 hours.

• Take 93 South to Route 24 South. Follow Route 24 to its end where Route 114 begins.

• Follow Route 114 into Middletown. After a Texaco station and an Ames store on your right, there will be a stop light. Take a left at the light, following the route 214 sign (there will be a store called Newport Furniture on your left).

• Follow Route 214 for approximately 10 minutes down to the beach area. Cross the beach on the causeway and enter into Newport.

• As you begin going up the hill, you will see a small hotel called Cliff Walk Manor on your left. Take a left turn immediately after the manor onto Cliff Avenue. Go two blocks down to Seaview Avenue.

The Cliffside Inn is on the left side on the corner of Cliff and Seaview.
