Sweet and Spicy Nuts - Nuts, Craisins & Four Pantry ItemsFrom VICTORIA RESORT BED & BREAKFAST
This recipe can be easily customized to accommodate whatever combination of nuts you have on hand. Cashews, peanuts, almonds...all wonderful!
- 3 cups of your favorite nuts (almonds, cashews, pecan halves, peanuts)
- 1 cup of Craisins
- 1 egg white
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne/ground red pepper
Take three cups of your favorite nuts, preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then grab the rest of your ingredients.
In a big bowl, use a whisk to whip up the egg white to a frothy mess. Add brown sugar, cinnamon and cayenne to mix up. Toss in the nuts and cranberries, stir to coat.
Pour the mix onto a cookie sheet, pop in the oven for 10 minutes, then fold them over a bit, continue baking for another 10 minutes. Let everything cool down, then store in airtight containers until you're ready to share. Which might be never.
