Wisconsin Apple Bread
From TUCK INN BED & BREAKFAST
1/2 cup butter (1 stick) 1-cup sugar 1 egg, beaten 2 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup milk 1 1/2 to 2 cups apples, pared, sliced thin 1/4 cup chopped nuts, optional Cream butter; add sugar and egg and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to butter mixture alternately with milk. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour batter into well-greased and floured 9x5x3-inch pan. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. |
