Linda's World Famous Granola

4 c. old-fashioned oats
1 c. wheat germ
2 Tbl dk brown sugar
½ tsp salt
¼ c. maple syrup
¼ c. molasses
6 Tbl canola oil
2 Tbl water
1 tsp ground cinnamon (or to taste)

"Extra Ingredients" (I use 4 tsp sesame seeds plus a combination of sliced almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds (@1c), dried cherries, blueberries, chopped dried apples, chopped dates(@1c), but you can use any combination of nuts/dried fruits that you prefer!

Heat oven to 275 . Coat 9x13 metal baking sheet with cooking spray. Mix oats, wheat germ, brown sugar, salt & "extra ingredients" - except dried fruit - in a bowl. Bring syrup, molasses, oil, water, & cinnamon to a simmer in a saucepan over low heat. Drizzle over oat mixture and stir to combine. Pour mixture into prepared baking sheet. Spread it around the pan using the back of a wooden spoon. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Stir in dried fruit. Bake until glden brown, @ another 15 minutes longer. Let cool. Granola can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
