2/3 cup orange juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/4 cup orange juice

Beat together 2/3 cup orange juice, eggs and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Dip bread slices into egg mixture and into bread crumbs, coating evenly on both sides. Fry in small amount of hot shortening until golden brown. Combine corn syrup, orange juice and peel in a saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serve over hot toast.
