Only 4 ingredients.
In microwave, heat 3 cups 2% milk until very hot. (About 5 mins using cold milk and 1000 watt microwave. A pyrex glass with a handle works well.)
Separately, in heavy saucepan (off the stove) beat 2 extra-large eggs, 3 Tablespoons cornstarch, 1/4 cup milk, and 1/2 cup sugar.
Beat very well to dissolve cornstarch, then add in hot milk while stirring.
Put on the stove. Bring to boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly so it doesn't scorch.
Pour in individual serving dishes and chill thoroughly.
4 Servings. Serve plain or garnish as you like.
