German Puff Pancake

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups 2% or whole milk


In mixer bowl beat eggs with sugar until blended. Add salt and vanilla. Add flour and milk alternately, beating until smooth. Pour equal amounts into two greased 9" round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees 20-25 minutes, until puffed up and just beginning to brown around edges.


Serve in wedges topped with strawberries and sweetened sour cream.


Strawberries: Wash and trim green tops off. Cut in half and add brown sugar to sweeten, 1/4-1/2 cup.


Sour Cream: To one cup sour cream add 1/4 cup cane sugar.
