Sugar Cream Pie



  • 1-cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 stick real butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. real vanilla


In heavy saucepan on low heat, stir together sugar, cornstarch, milk, butter and salt. Cook stirring constantly until thick. Stir in vanilla and pour into baked pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Let cool at least 2 hours. This is one of our most requested recipes. It is as smooth as silk.
