Stuffed French Toast with Apples

From THE HADDIE PIERCE HOUSE BED & BREAKFAST
1 loaf french bread
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
1 ½ cups milk
7 eggs
½ cup maple syrup
2 to 3 peeled, thinly sliced apples
2 tbsp sugar mixed with 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Thinly slice the french bread. Place one layer in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Add cream cheese, cut in small cubes. Cover with another layer of bread.
Add mixture of milk, beaten eggs and syrup. Cover and let stand overnight in refrigerator. Mix apples with cinnamon sugar and place on top of the bread.

Bake 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven or until the apples are tender. Serve with Syrup.
