Caramel CornFrom GARNET HOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST
- 7 Quarts freshly popped corn
- 1 Cup Nuts (Optional)
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- 1 Cup Margarine
- 1/2 Cup White Corn Syrup
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Pop corn and place in large roaster pan.
Put other ingredients except for nuts (if you decide to use) vanilla and baking soda in pan and bring to boil - stir in baking soda and vanilla right before removing from burner. Pour mixture over popping corn in pan and bake at 250 degrees, for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Either make into balls or cool and break up for Carmel corn.
