Creme Brule Baked French ToastFrom CLEFTSTONE MANOR
Cooking Time:1 hour
- 1-inch slices dense white bread
- 2 cups milk
- 1 stick butter
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp orange liquor or extract
Melt butter, add brown sugar and pour into the bottom of a 9X13 glass dish. Place the bread on the butter mixture. Blend the egg, milk and extracts and pour over the bread. Soak overnight. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for one hour.
Baked Apple French Toast
Place peeled, cored and sliced apples on the butter mixture. Instead of the orange extact, add 1 tsp cinnamon to the liquid mixture. Spinkle cinnamon on the bread before baking.
