Apple Crisp

- 12 c. peeled sliced apples
- 1 ½ c. orange juice
- juice and rind of one lemon
- 1 t. nutmeg
- 2 t. cinnamon
- 1 ¼ c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 T. cinnamon
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 t. nutmeg
- 12 T butter
Directions
Toss apple slices in the following syrup:
Syrup
Bring the following ingredients to a boil and simmer for one minute:
1 ½ c. orange juice
juice and rind of one lemon
1 t. nutmeg
2 t. cinnamon
1 ¼ c. sugar
Divide apples into two 9” pyrex pans
Topping
1 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 T. cinnamon
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 t. nutmeg
12 T butter
Bake until bubbly and brown, about 1 hour at 350 degrees.
