Apple ButterFrom BLUE ROCK BED & BREAKFAST
Simple to make, and tastes great on just about anything!
6 pounds of apples
dark brown sugar
2 t. ground cinnamon
¼ t. ground cloves
juice of 1 lemon
Wash unpeeled apples and remove cores, and seeds, cut into quarters (do not remove peels).
Place in slow cooker (do not add water).
Cook on low for 8 – 12 hours.
Puree fruit in blender.
Add ½ cup dark brown sugar, or less if you prefer, for every cup of pureed fruit.
Add remaining ingredients.
Return to slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low 8 – 12 hours.
Seal in jars with pre-heated lids (pre-heat jars as well if preferred).
