Bourbon Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda, stirred into buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp white corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey

Directions

Mix all ingredients together, except bourbon, in a saucepan.  Bring to boil, boil for 1 minute.  Allow to cool a bit, then add bourbon.  Spoon warm sauce over warm bread pudding.
