Cherry Crunch Coffeecake

This easy-to-make coffeecake is a beautiful and tasty breakfast treat.........delicious with chilled juice, sizzling sausage links and steaming mugs of rich coffee!

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 2 pkgs. instant dry yeast
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 21-oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup

Directions

Combine 1 1/2 cups cake mix with eggs, water, yeast and flour.  Mix for 2 minutes.  Spread into greased 13" x 9" baking dish.  Top with pie filling.  In a separate bowl, mix remaining cake mix with melted butter until crumbly.  Sprinkle on top of pie filling.  Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

 

Mix confectioners sugar, water and corn syrup until smooth,

and drizzle over warm coffeecake.

 

Serve warm......mmmmmm
