1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/4 cups eggnog
1 cup chopped candied cherries
Frosting (below)
Candied cherry halves

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Combine flour and baking powder and add alternately with eggnog. Fold in candied cherries. Pour into well greased muffin pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned. Cool, frost, and top each with a candied cherry half.

Eggnog Muffin Frosting
1 3/4 cups powered sugar
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix powered sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon together. Add eggnog to make spreading consistency. Drizzle over each cupcake.
