Apple Cream Cheese Torte

From

Pre heat oven to 450 degrees

Crust:

1/4 cup butter

1/3 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla, blend in flour.  Pat dough onto the bottom and about 1" up the sides of a 10" spring form pan.

Filling:

8 oz. cream cheese

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup sugar

Beat all filling ingredients until smooth and pour over crust.

Apples:

6 cups peeled and sliced apples

3/4 tsp. cinnamon

1/3 cup sugar

Toss sliced apples in cinnamon sugar mix and place in desired pattern over filling.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.  REDUCE heat to 400 degrees and continue baking 35 minutes or until apples are tender.

Cool and refrigerate.
