Overnight French Toast

I saw the topping on a Martha Stewart program.  You can adjust the quantity to whatever amount you need.  Just mix equal quantities of the five ingredients.  Cinnamon & nutmeg can also be added.  I use it on everything from a cobbler to muffins

Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Half & Half
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • Topping :
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts

Directions

Cut up a loaf of French bread in 1" pieces and place in dish

Mix together the first six ingredients

Pour over bread and cover.

Put in refrigerator overnight.

 

In the morning, crumble the topping over the bread and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.
