Crumb Cake

From 12 FRANKLIN STREET BED AND BREAKFAST

Here's a favorite!

Mix like pie mix:
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 c. pecans

Blend these together and take out 1 cup for topping...

Beat together:
1 beaten egg
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda

Combine both batters and pour into loaf cake pan. Put the cup of reserved topping over the top of batter and press down. Bake in 350 degree oven 45 minutes or until the cake tests done....
