Ingredients:
Cubed ham, sausage, chicken, eyeball amounts to fill about 1/4 of kettle you are using
Chicken broth, whole tomatoes in juice, diced tomatoes in juice--eyeball amounts to half fill kettle
Celery/onion/garlic/carrots/green,red peppers/ to 3/4 fill kettle
Black eyed peas/golden hominy/corn kernels/collard green/lima beans/black beans to top of kettle
Add to taste: paprika, sugar, dry mustard, ground cumin
Add to taste: dried basil, dried oregano, dried thyme
Add to taste: ground cloves, cayenne pepper, molasses
Steps:
Saute fresh veggies/add liquids/add frozen or canned veggies/add spices.
Cook stirring constantly for about an hour. Turn off heat.
Let sit for remainder of the day. Refrigerate over night. Freeze next day.
To serve: thaw, place in crock pot on low heat to re-heat (takes about an hour and a half.
Serve with dollop of sour cream sprinkled with red pepper flakes. Bam!
