2 cups water
1 cup quick cooking grits
1 or 2 cloves garlic
tabasco sauce to taste
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
freshly ground pepper
Bring water an salt to a boil Sir in grits; return to a boil. Cook for 2 1/2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add cheese, garlic, worchestershire sauce and seasoning; stir until well mixed. let stand until cool.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold into grits mixture.
Pour into buttered 1.12 quart casserole dish.
Bake 400o for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Yield: 8 servings
I serve this with German Baked eggs, biscuits and fresh fruit...A big hit.
