2/3 Cup Crisco or butter
1 2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 Large, ripe mashed bananas
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
2/3 cups butter milk OR 2/3 cup milk plus 1 tsp. Vinegar (I use the powdered buttermilk and low fat milk for this recipe as you can keep it in the fridge forever!)
1 cup chopped walnuts

Cream the crisco, sugar. Add the eggs, vanilla, and the mashed bananas.
Sift the dry ingredients. NOTE: If you use the dry buttermilk, add that to the sifted ingredients. Add the dry ingredients to the batter mixing on low and alternate the milk until all is together. Beat for 2 minutes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes depending upon the pan. I use a tube pan.
Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar.
