Stuffed French Toast presented by Goddard Mansion

12 slices of cinnamon bread
1/2 cup softened cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
8 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup maple syrup
confectioner's sugar
Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch casserole dish and arrange half of the bread slices on the bottom of the dish.
Spread the bread slices with cream cheese.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle on top of the cream cheese
then top with the rest of the bread slices.
Mix the eggs, cream, and syrup in a large bowl and pour over the bread.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Bake uncovered at 350º for 45 minutes or until golden and puffed.
Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and cut through bread slices to serve.
