Maria's Whole Wheat Bread presented by The Darby Field Inn & Restaurant Email this page to a Friend
Mix in a bowl:
4 cups of lukewarm water
3-4 tbl of molasses

Add:
l 1/2 tbl of dry yeast
1 cup of white flour
Mix and let it bubble.

Then add:
4 eggs
1/2 tbl salt
3/4 cups of melted butter
2 cups whole wheat flour
4-6 cups of white flour or more (enough to make dough elastic and not stick to sides of bowl)

Mix everything. Knead for 1 minute or so. Let it rise once. Divide into 2-3 loaves. Put in greased bread pans. Let it rise a bit.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
