1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup wheat germ
1 egg, well beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
1/4 cup light molasses
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into bowl; stir in wheat germ.
Combine egg, milk, melted butter, and molasses. Add all at once to flour mixture;
stir lightly just until liquid is absorbed. (Batter will be lumpy.)
Spoon into 12 medium-sized greased muffin pan cups to fill 2/3 full.
Bake in 400 degrees oven for 20 minutes or until richly browned.
Remove from pan immediately.
