Ham and Cheese Strata presented by Brackenridge House Bed & Breakfast Inn

16 slices of white bread with crusts cut off
8 slices of processed American cheese
8 slices of ham
1 cup butter
8 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup crushed corn flakes
Butter bread on one side using 1/2 cup of butter and put one slice of cheese and one slice of ham between 2 slices of bread to make a sandwich
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and place the sandwiches side by side in it
Beat 8 eggs and 2 cups of milk and a half teaspoon of dry mustard. Pour over the ham sandwiches and refrigerate overnight.
Melt remaining 1/2 cup of butter and add 1 cup of crushed corn flakes. Sprinkle over the top of the casserole. Bake covered with aluminum foil for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
Remove the cover and bake an additional 15 minutes. Serves 8.
