Whip Together in order:
4 C milk (lukewarm or room temp)
5 eggs
1 C sugar
2 T vanilla
2 T cinnamon

Mix well then add 3 T margarine or butter (melted) and whisk to mix very well.

Pour over: 1 pound of broken bread (white, whole wheat, heels, and crust Preferred, old rolls, misc. - NO Rye, Caraway, or Sesame seeds) (Hint: check the bread pkg. for number of ounces per slice.) Let soak until all bread is moist. This may take a couple of hours depending on the bread used. When finished soaking stir in 1 C of raisins.

Pour into a 9 X 13 pan and top liberally with brown sugar and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Vanilla Custard Sauce

3/4 C sugar
3 egg yolks beaten
1/8 t salt
3 T margarine or butter-room temp
2 T cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 C of water
1 1/2 C boiling water
2 T white vanilla

Cream sugar, eggs, salt, and margarine - add cornstarch mixture. Add boiling water slowly. Cook on low-medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Add vanilla.

This stuff is GREAT! Sometimes I'll double it to have extra.

Good Luck and Enjoy!
