Apple Crisp presented by The Aaronsburg Inn & Spa

5 cups Peeled and sliced cooking apples (pref. Granny Smith)
1/3 cup Water
¾ cup Flour
1 cup Sugar
½ tsp. Cinnamon
Pinch salt
¼ lb. Butter
Cream
Dash nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350.
Spread the apples in a buttered 1 ½ -quart baking dish.
Sprinkle the water over the apples.
Place flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt together in a bowl and rub in the butter with your fingers until the mixture looks like coarse corn meal.
Spread over the apples and bake until brown, 40 minutes.
Serve with warmed, heavy cream to which a dash of nutmeg has been added.
