Introduction
Surround yourself with the peace and quiet of bucolic Bucks County in this grand, historic manor house nestled in the village of Point Pleasant. The Tattersall is located equidistant between the main towns: Frenchtown is 7 miles to the north, New Hope and Lambertville are 7 miles to the south, Doylestown is 7 miles to the west and Peddler’s Village is approx 6 miles to the southwest. Beautifully furnished, the Tattersall features three grand porches overlooking manicured lawns and perennial gardens. The ubiquitous Stover family lived here for more then 150 years. Ralph Stover, the best-known member of this prominent Bucks County clan of mill owners, resided here during the latter half of the 19th century.
Guests will get a hint of the life of a country squire when you step into the richly wainscoted and mahogany entry hall, then into the formal dining room with its marble fireplace where breakfast is served each morning next to a glowing fireplace or outside patio, pending season/weather. The colonial common room features a beamed ceiling and large fireplace, which years ago was the center of home life before cast iron stoves and central heating. On the weekends, guests also enjoy afternoon tea and complimentary wine.
The six spacious, antique-furnished guest rooms are a joy, each with its own personality. You may prefer the romantic Royal Lavender Room with its lace canopied queen size four-poster bed and fireplace, or perhaps you may want the Gaelic touch of the Highland Room with it's wide plank floors and black watch plaid draperies. Three rooms have gas log fireplaces, and all rooms have queen size beds, private baths air-conditioning and TV.
Bucks County is known for its beautiful parks, rolling hills and rural byways, as well as its quaint towns, local artists, antique shops, wineries, craft shops, flea markets, and dining establishments. Colonial and revolutionary sites can be visited in many parts of the county and provide the traveler with a glimpse of America's heritage. From the Tattersall Inn, you can take a short walk to the village center and pick up sandwiches at the village store for a picnic, or continue to the Delaware River where tubes, canoes and kayaks are available for rental. In the evening, dine at any one of the many gourmet restaurant s for which Bucks County is renowned. Swimmers can use the nearby pool at Tohickon Valley Park or Nockamixon State Park.
