Introduction
Sweetwater Farm is a grand old, stone mansion, sitting proud on a crest of 50 acres dating back to 1734. This land was given as a grant from William Penn to the Hemphill family. Sweetwater Farm is a majestic haven 20 minutes southwest of the Philadelphia Airport. It's in the heart of Historic Brandywine Valley, closely located to attractions, magnificent golf courses, fine dining and museums, yet secluded in the country side.
Our historic estate features fourteen guest rooms - three in the original 1734 Quaker farmhouse wing and four in the 1815 Georgian wing. The original carriage house, greenhouse and caretakers cottage have all been transformed into seven guest cottages, five of which are pet and child friendly. Other amenities for your perfect getaway are a swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, golf chipping range, nine-hole disc golf course, private massage room, fitness room, walking trail and a friendly family of horses, sheep and goats.
The Billard Room
Enjoy and gourmet country breakfast each morning in either our elegant dining room or, when the weather warms, on the patio overlooking the back pastures. Make yourself at home in our delightfully cozy den, the parlor or the billiards room, all with twelve foot ceilings and working fireplaces. Or, laze away your afternoon sipping wine on the back porch or playing a game of croquet on the back lawn.
New to Sweetwater Farm is the addition of Grace Winery and Vineyard. Our five acre vineyard is planted and we are eagerly awaiting the completion of the winery, tasting room and event space.
