Introduction
Welcome To The Stebbins-Swayne House B&B
Whether you are a history lover or not, you will certainly enjoy the history and ambiance of the 1850's while visiting the Stebbins-Swayne House Bed and Breakfast in the national Historic District of Kennett Square. This Georgian style house was built in 1842. The warm and cozy atmosphere will take you back to a quieter time where you can relax and forget the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. A block and a half walk will take you uptown to galleries, restaurants and many specialty shops. Return for afternoon tea in the formal dining room or outside porches or patio. Stroll in the tranquil gardens, relaxing and daydreaming. Engage in conversations with your innkeeper about history and events of the 1850's.
Spring is in the air. What a great time to visit Kennett Square!
Try the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail. There are 6 wineries on the tour, all close to my house. It's a great time to visit the local museums. You will enjoy works by three generations of Wyeths and others at the Brandywine River Museum. Like old books? Visit Macaluso Rare and Fine Books or the Baldwin's Book Barn on the way to West Chester. Don't forget Longwood Gardens. Getting hungry? We have many wonderful restaurants, many with mushroom specialties (we are the mushroom capital of the world).
The Stebbins-Swayne House is available for your own private parties,
corporate events such as meetings or training seminars.

"The Stebbins-Swayne Bed and Breakfast was beyond perfect. My mother, and a friend and I stayed there when we went to the annual Mushroom festival at Kennett Square 06. The decor of the rooms was lovely, and the temperature of the rooms was perfect. Rosemary was a wonderful and considerate host who served a very yummy breakfast. The house is beautifully maintained, and is just a block away from the main street in Kennett. We're looking forward to going back to check out Longwood Gardens."
