We welcome you to the Somerset Country Inn a Victorian farmhouse (circa 1860) located just half a block from downtown historic Somerset. The Inn is furnished with fine antiques and white lace, while antique oriental carpets cover the finished wood floors throughout the house. Nestled in the heart of the Laurel Highlands vacation region, the Somerset Country Inn provides you with a central location for both downhill and cross-country skiing, golfing, and hiking or biking in one of several picturesque state parks or the Allegheny Highlands Trail. Nearby, Ohiopyle State Park offers white water rafting and Jennerstown hosts weekly NASCAR stock car racing.

For a more relaxed atmosphere, visit "Fallingwater" or "Kentuck Knob," both designed by acclaimed architect Frank Lloyd Wright; enjoy live theater performances at the Mountain Playhouse; or spend time shopping at The Factory Shops at Georgian Place or one of many local specialty and antique shops.

Guest Rooms

We want you to feel special when you stay with us and so we take the utmost care to provide a comfortable, quiet and clean environment for all of your needs. You'll find each of our guest rooms to be simply, but tastefully, furnished with antiques and Victorian decor. In each room, Joyce provides cozy afghans that are handmade by her sister-in-law, Carol. The dining room invites you to a sumptuous breakfast. Our guests' favorite item is stuffed French toast with cream cheese and topped with blueberry sauce. Each morning the table abounds with fruit, the main entree, breakfast meats, assorted breads, juices, steaming hot coffee and specialty teas. The most important meal of the day is definitely breakfast at the Somerset Country Inn!

Both Joyce and Dan spend hours tending the lovely flower gardens in the backyard. You can relax on the bench under the pine tree, enjoy a picnic lunch at the picnic table, or meander along the path to the rock garden with a quiet seating area. Of course, you'll want to take time to smell the roses on the trellis in the summer, the beautiful springtime tulips and daffodils, or the seasonal wildflowers and black-eyed susans.

This beautiful backyard setting offers the perfect place for small private parties or weddings. Joyce and Dan will cater for parties up to 50 guests and Dan, a minister, can even perform the ceremony!
