History of The Roth House
The Roth House Bed & Breakfast is the original homestead of David Greensweig. The home was constructed in 1825 on property purchased as a land warrant containing 176 acres in 1759 by Jonathan Pettit. Through the years the structure served as a Home, General Store, Little Gap post office from 1901 to 1909, Magisterial office and Tavern. The building also accommodated as the home of the present owners Great Grand Father John I. Roth and family from 1893 to 1935, and who also served as postmaster.
In 1998 the property was purchased by the present owners and restored as a bed and breakfast.
