The Rockwood Trail House would like to help you plan for an experience in the wonderful mountains of the Laurel highlands. We can answer your questions and provide helpful information for making memories that will last a lifetime! There is an extensive list of places, events, activities and something appealing is guaranteed for everyone.

Laurel highlands has a lot to offer the vacationer. Local resorts like Seven Springs or Hidden Valley where downhill and cross-country skiing, snow tubing and sleigh rides can be enjoyed. Hiking in the mountains, biking, fishing, sight seeing our scenic parks or one of our many festivals, craft and antique shows and historic sites may appeal to you. Our state parks include Ohiopyle, Laurel Hill, Laurel Ridge and Kooser. The highest point in Pennsylvania, Mt. Davis, is close by. Some festivals and shows are New Centerville's Steam Jubilee, Mountain Craft Days, Somerset Historical Center, Antique Fair, Jazz Festival, Wine and Food Festival, Oktoberfest, Fort Ligonier, along with many more.

  • A wonderful bicycle trail, The Great Allegheny Passage(with rentals) and numerous golf courses are sure to be enjoyable and energizing. White water rafting, canoeing, along with swimming is another alternative.
  • Tours are available for two of Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural masterpieces, Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob.
  • Rockwood Opera House and Mountain Playhouse offer wonderful plays along with an exquisite meal.
  • Local winery - Glades Pike -- offers excellent flavors and a tour.
  • Excellent restaurants and other fine places to eat are close by.
